Miles & Hours

Terms & Community Rules

Effective November 6, 2026

Miles & Hours brings people together to drive, ride, explore, and share the stories that come from getting out together. These terms explain what you can expect from Miles & Hours and what we ask of everyone who takes part.

The short version

  • This is not a race. Drive and ride responsibly, follow the law, and respect the people and places around you.
  • Keep it fun. Be respectful, contribute positively, and leave the arguing elsewhere.
  • Hosts make their own plans. Read the Event details and any additional rules or requirements before joining.
  • You are responsible for your own decisions. Choose Events and Activities that are right for you, your vehicle, and your experience.
  • Your stories are yours. Share content you have the right to share, and be considerate of the people and places featured in it.
  • Questions or concerns? Contact us at admin@milesandhours.com.

The full terms below provide more detail.

1. About Miles & Hours

Miles & Hours provides tools for people to create and join Events, take part in Activities, and share stories about their experiences.

Events are created and led by their Hosts. Miles & Hours provides the platform, but does not generally organize, supervise, or operate those Events.

These terms apply when you visit or use Miles & Hours. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information.

2. Accounts and membership

Some parts of Miles & Hours are available to visitors. Other features require an account or a paid membership.

You are responsible for the information you provide and for activity on your account. Keep your sign-in information secure and contact us if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.

Membership options, prices, and included features are described on the site when you sign up or make a change. Paid memberships renew as disclosed when you purchase them. You may cancel future renewals through the available membership controls.

Canceling a paid membership is different from deleting your account. You may return to the Free membership level and continue to access the features available to Free Members.

3. Events and Hosts

Each Event is different. The Host decides the Event’s destination, schedule, Activities, requirements, and other details. An Event may include a shared start, a shared finish, both, or other arrangements explained by the Host.

Hosts are responsible for their own Events, including the information they provide, their rules, and decisions about who may participate. A Host may require participants to agree to additional Event-specific rules or documents.

A Host may add Event-specific rules and upload a required document. If an Event has these requirements, you will see the current material and be asked to agree before registering. For a Ticketed Event, agreement happens before checkout. If the Host changes the rules or document, new participants are asked to agree to the current version. Your agreement applies to the version you accepted. This is separate from your agreement to Miles & Hours’ own policies.

Miles & Hours does not create, administer, or take responsibility for a Host’s additional rules or policies. Those rules do not replace these terms or applicable law.

4. This is not a race

Miles & Hours Events are not races. Speed, unsafe driving, and competition on public roads have no place here.

Follow traffic laws and local rules. Drive or ride within your abilities and the limits of your vehicle, the road, and the conditions. Do not use a phone or interact with Miles & Hours while operating a vehicle.

Activities, checkpoints, recorded times, and points may be used to document participation or support a Host’s own scoring. They are not permission to speed, drive recklessly, or put anyone at risk.

An Activity or route is never a reason to disregard a road closure, enter a prohibited area, damage property, or continue when conditions are unsafe. You can stop, change your plans, or decline an Activity at any time.

5. Your participation

Driving, riding, traveling, and taking part in Events involve risks, including changing weather, road conditions, vehicle problems, and the actions of other people. You are responsible for deciding whether to participate and for making your own decisions along the way.

Before setting out, review the Host’s Event information and consider your experience, your vehicle, the route, and the conditions. You are responsible for maintaining any license, registration, insurance, and equipment required for your participation.

Miles & Hours cannot guarantee that an Event, route, Activity, or information provided by a Host or participant is accurate, available, suitable, or safe for every person.

6. Community conduct

Miles & Hours should be a welcoming place to share the things we enjoy.

Treat other people with respect. Do not harass, threaten, bully, discriminate against, impersonate, or deliberately provoke others. Do not post abusive or unlawful material, expose someone’s private information without permission, or use the site to spam or mislead people.

We may remove content, restrict access, or suspend or close an account when we believe it violates these terms, creates a safety concern, or interferes with the community or operation of the site. If you see a problem, contact admin@milesandhours.com.

7. Photos, stories, and other content

You keep ownership of the photos, writing, and other content you share on Miles & Hours.

By adding content, you give Miles & Hours permission to store, display, and use it as needed to operate the site and provide its features—for example, to show an Entry in your Participant Journal or as part of an Event Story according to the applicable settings.

Only share content you created or have permission to use. Be considerate when posting photos or information about other people, private property, or sensitive locations.

You can remove some content using the available controls or request removal of your personal information, writing, and images by emailing admin@milesandhours.com. We verify requests before processing them. Event and payment records may remain where needed for Event history, payments, disputes, or legal obligations, with identifying details removed where possible. Earlier Host-policy agreement snapshots and backups may still contain information.

8. Payments, cancellations, and refunds

Some memberships and Events have a price. The applicable price and payment terms will be shown before you purchase.

Ticketed Event payments are processed through Stripe. The Host receives Event registration payments through the Host’s Stripe account, subject to applicable fees and Stripe’s terms.

Event refund terms and any applicable fees should be disclosed before purchase. If you have a question about an Event refund, contact the Host or Miles & Hours at admin@milesandhours.com. Refunds may also be required in circumstances where applicable law provides for them.

9. Availability and changes

We may update, change, or discontinue features and may temporarily interrupt the site for maintenance, security, or other operational reasons. We cannot promise that the site will always be available or free from errors.

We may update these terms as Miles & Hours changes. When changes are material, we will provide notice as appropriate.

10. Disclaimers and limits

Miles & Hours is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not make warranties about the availability, accuracy, or suitability of the site, Events, Activities, routes, or content provided by other users.

To the extent permitted by law, Miles & Hours is not responsible for losses, injuries, damages, or disputes arising from participation in an Event, another user’s conduct, or use of information provided through the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be limited.
